According to Arvind Pathak, Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement Plc, compressed natural gas will power the majority of the company’s fleet by the middle of 2026.

The Dangote Group revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

The company “aspires to operate a fleet predominantly powered by CNG,” he said.

“We are making investments to expand our CNG fueling infrastructure in order to facilitate this transformation and guarantee that our expanding fleet has consistent access to CNG as fuel.”

Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, stated that the company had spent $280 million on compressed natural gas vehicles in order to help Nigeria’s transition to cleaner and greener energy.

Since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has spearheaded the country’s push for energy efficiency, we anticipate a spectacular achievement in this quest for a sustainable energy transition. This assumes that the business sector will step in to support the president’s admirable initiative.

“We are now adopting CNG vehicles, particularly in light of the Federal Government’s new policy, which His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Dangote declared, “We are dedicated to a cleaner and greener future.”

As an alternative to Premium Motor Spirit, CNG will now be available in additional Nigerian states, according to the Presidential Initiative on CNG.
