The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has promised that no project will be abandoned under his leadership, that his administration is commited to completing all ongoing and future projects within his tenure.
The governor disclosed this on Friday during the groundbreaking ceremony for township road projects in Rigasa Ward, Igabi Local Government Area, and Zango in Tudun Wada, Kaduna South Local Government Area.
Speaking at the Rigasa event, the governor said, “The projects will be fully funded. We have already paid 50 per cent mobilisation to the contractors.”
Sani also stated that “Rigasa has been overlooked for too long. Its infrastructure deficit is worrisome.
“But this project is not just about building roads. It is about opening up opportunities for the urban poor who contribute daily to the development of Kaduna State,” he said.
Sani expressing appreciation for the electoral support received from Rigasa, noted that the ward accounted for over 32 per cent of votes from Igabi local government during the 2023 governorship election.
“For this, I remain eternally grateful. This project is also a way of saying thank you for your trust and support,” he added.
The governor said the Rigasa road project would improve the livelihood of residents, including farmers, civil servants, and small business owners.
“Through their sacrifices, they contribute significantly to our economy and GDP. Investing in roads like these will enhance livelihoods and stimulate local growth,” he stated.
The governor speaking about the reconstruction of Zango Road in Tudun Wada ward in Kaduna South LGA, which he inaugurated said the project is personally significant due to his connection to the area as a former student of Kaduna Polytechnic.
“I have an emotional attachment to this area. I know the pain residents have endured due to years of infrastructural neglect.
“Today marks a new beginning for Zango and Tudun Wada,” the governor said.
The governor revealed that the first phase of road projects covered 785 kilometres across 85 roads, with 44 completed and the rest nearing completion.
The second phase, he said, involved over 50 new roads and bridges totalling 550km.
Sani assured the residents that his government remained committed to inclusive development, prudent financial management, and infrastructure delivery without accumulating debt.
“No project will be abandoned. We will complete what we start, and every community will feel the impact of governance,” he concluded.
