After playing in his first game with Santos on Wednesday, Brazilian star Neymar took aim at Jorge Jesus, his former coach at the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.

Jesus had doubted whether Neymar was ready to play.

In the second half of Santos’ 1-1 draw with Botafogo in the state championship in São Paulo, Neymar made an appearance.

Despite not being fully recovered from a lengthy injury layoff, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star gave a strong performance throughout the match.

After the game, Neymar told reporters he was furious about what Jesus had said about him.

“I’m prepared to play. Naturally, I won’t be able to play for ninety minutes because I was injured for a long time. According to Fabrizio Romano, Neymar stated, “I needed games.”

“When Jorge Jesus stated that I lacked the ability to play like the rest of the team, I was obviously furious.”

A few days ago, Neymar and Al-Hilal mutually agreed to end their deal.
