Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, the First Lady of Ebonyi, has contributed N2 million to help the ten victims of the gas explosion at Good Shepherd Catering School in Oruokeonuoha, in the state’s Ebonyi LGA.

When the governor’s wife paid a sympathy visit to the victims at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki (AE-FUTHA), she donated through her nonprofit, Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO).

During the visit, Mrs Nwifuru stated that the two million naira donation was intended to finance their hospital treatment, and she also pledged to pay for tiny Miss Anita Ahamefula’s medical operation, which she needed but could not afford.

Mrs. Nwifuru sympathized with the victims and prayed to God for their rapid recovery and the strength to continue their activities despite suffering 3rd and 4th-degree burns and being in critical condition.

The girls, all teenagers aged 13 to 19, were brought to the hospital for extensive care following Thursday’s gas explosion.
