Being the daughter of Nigerian millionaire Femi Otedola, Florence Otedola, well known as DJ Cuppy, is the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Cuppy served as moderator for the UNGA’s Youth Action Day in 2024, which had as its topic “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.”
Cuppy concluded her keynote speech with a musical performance.
Her meeting grew to be the biggest youth event ever held at UN Headquarters.
José Maria Neves, the president of Cape Verde, and the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs are among the other notable attendees at the event.
