Known by his stage name Davido, well-known Nigerian artist David Adeleke has shared his thoughts on how he copes with the loss of a loved one.
The singer is no stranger to sorrow; in a short period of time, he lost his mother, Mrs. Victoria Imade Adeleke, at the age of 11, his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, age 3, as well as friends Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and personal photographer Fortune.
In a recent New York interview with Mystery Fashionist, Davido revealed that despite the catastrophes, his faith has kept him going.
“I have had several losses. I was eleven years old when my mother died. I’m merely being resilient. “Stand Strong” is the song I performed.
He remarked, “I feel like I’ve got strength, and my faith has obviously kept me going.”
Davido cleared up some misunderstandings about himself as well.
“I believe that occasionally people perceive me as unapproachable. There’s also a notion that I’m too approachable.
“I’m used to having people around me because I grew up in a large household. God is the source of my prosperity and talent, he said.
