Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up for Miss Universe, has declared her intention to give up pageantry.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina stated that she had experienced trauma from pageantry.
She stated that she is leaving South Africa, her estranged nation, for personal reasons and moving to Nigeria.
“I’m still shocked that I placed in the top two [at the Miss Universe competition].” To be honest, I’m finished. For me, pageantry was a truly horrible event,” she remarked.
“People are still unable to comprehend my feelings. During the Miss Universe competition, there were moments when I considered giving up. I’ve had enough of pageantry. I want to put myself first and define my identity. and continue my studies as well.
Adetshina won the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after placing first runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant.
After she withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to criticism regarding her nationality, she went on to win Miss Nigeria.
