The Presidency has provided some clarification regarding President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, stated that ministers were not fired but instead terminated.
Speaking with TVC, Onanuga stated that the term “sacked” does not adequately reflect their departure.
“Ministers were not sacked; they were discharged,” he explained.
Tinubu reshuffled his government, removing seven ministers and appointing seven others.
The cabinet change announced on Wednesday affected Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
