On Tuesday, Ahmad voiced his concerns through his verified X account, saying that Obi ought to have publicly denounced the murder and sent his sympathies to the EFCC and Sahabi’s family.
Ahmad stated in his post, “I thought Peter Obi would surprise us by sending his sympathies to the EFCC and the family of Aminu Sahabi, who was cruelly murdered by accused internet fraudster Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu while performing his professional duty.
Given that the heinous murder took place in his home state of Anambra, I had thought he would have loudly denounced it.
During a Friday morning raid in Awka, Sahabi, an Assistant Superintendent with the EFCC, was shot and killed.
Sahabi and his colleagues were trying to capture suspected cybercriminals when Chukwuka Josiah Ikechukwu Nnamdi from Ifite, Awka, allegedly carried out the attack.
The late Salihu was assassinated while performing his official duties, according to a statement released on Sunday by Dele Oyewale, the head of media and publicity for the EFCC.
