Contentious Idris Okuneye, a Nigerian transvestite who goes by Bobrisky, has denied paying Human Rights Attorney Femi Falana (SAN) or his son Falz in exchange for a presidential pardon.
Bobrisky was given 12 hours by Falana and his son to retract the allegations he made in a widely shared audio clip that VDM made public last month.
Recall that Bobrisky stated in an online audio recording that he was called by Falana and his son Falz during his six-month term for naira misuse.
Falz and his father “tried to get me a presidential pardon in exchange for N10 million,” according to Bobrisky’s accusation on the recording.
However, Falana’s attorneys, Olorunfemi Akinyemi and Taiwo E. Olawanle, accused Bobrisky of making false and defamatory comments regarding Falana and his son’s role in the alleged bribery and pardon in a letter dated October 14, 2024.
Bobrisky’s allegations were deemed baseless and detrimental to Falana’s reputation by the legal team.
Falanas’ legal team called for an apology and a complete retraction of the claim, which should be widely posted on all websites where the statements were shared.
They further stated that Falana will take legal action, including monetary damages claims, if Bobrisky does not cooperate within 12 hours of receiving the letter.
Bobrisky responded by denying the Falanas money in a post on his Instagram page, emphasizing that VDM, the company who put the audio online, should be held fully accountable for his public remarks.
He maintains that he did not write any disparaging remarks about Falana or Falz and that he is not the individual in the widely shared audio tape.
