Nigeria should have a permanent seat at the UN security seat, according to US President Joe Biden.

He stated that his nation was dedicated to securing two permanent seats for Africa in the UN Security Council.

According to Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Biden called President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday night to discuss his position on Nigeria’s application for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

According to Tuggar, the two leaders’ 30-minute phone conversation took place on the same day that Tigran Gambaryan, Binance’s head of finance crime compliance, was freed on October 23.

According to the minister, the US president stated that he could not understand why Nigeria should not be granted a permanent seat at the UN.

Tuggar continued, “The two leaders also talked about the issue of permanent seats, and President Biden and the UN Security Council reaffirmed that the United States is committed to seeing Africa have two permanent seats.”

Africa has long demanded equal representation in the UN Security Council, as you may remember.

Every year, the UN General Assembly chooses five new council members from various geographic regions to serve two-year terms.

The 15-member council has three rotating members for Africa.
