Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has approved a series of new appointments and the constitution of boards for some key commissions in the state.

In a press release via the state’s X handle, issued on Sunday by Chief Press Secretary Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor said the appointments are effective immediately.

Linda Agada is appointed as Special Adviser on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises/Microfinance; James Tor as Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation, and Special Duties; while Dr. Shadrach Ukuma is appointed as Director-General of Arts, Culture, and Tourism; and Tivlumun Bulya as Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly Matters.

The release also detailed the composition of the Benue State Pension Commission Board, with the following appointments:

  • Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas as Chairman.
  • Cmrd. Umaja A. Alloysius as Member.
  • Asen Sambe as Member.
  • Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as Member.
  • Commissioner for Finance as Member.
  • Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission as Member.
  • Head of Service as Member.
  • Director-General of the Benue State Planning Commission as Member.

 

For the Benue Investment and Property Company, the governor appointed:

  • Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa as Chairman.
  • Andrew Aondofa Chila as Member.
  • Ashi Iortyom Donald as Member.
  • John Ochonye Oyishoma as Member.
  • Commissioner for Trade and Industry as Member.
  • Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State as Member.

 

Additionally, the Benue Internal Revenue Service Board includes:

  • Ande Clement Shianti as Member.
  • Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah as Member.
  • Elizabeth Onekele as Member.
  • Representative from the Ministry of Finance as Member.
  • Representative from the Ministry of Agriculture as Member.

Alia urged the newly appointed officials to leverage their “wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism” in their roles.
