Leon Balogun, a defender for Rangers, has identified the essential components that would help the Super Eagles win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Twelve years have passed since the Super Eagles’ last continental victory in South Africa.

At the most recent competition in Cote d’Ivoire, the West Africans advanced to the finals.

According to Balogun, the squad needs to be ambitious, self-assured, and have a well-defined strategy in order to win the title in Morocco.

“Well, the AFCON is a tournament,” Balogun explained to Flashscore.com.

“You’re hoping to win. Every crew that arrives there does so with a sense of purpose.

Therefore, you must accept it as it is. Nigeria likely has something to prove after the final if they wish to be the champions of Africa.

“Therefore, you must go there with a clear plan, a lot of ambition, and a lot of confidence.”

The North African powerhouses Tanzania, Uganda, and Tunisia are matched alongside the Super Eagles in Group C.

On Tuesday, December 23, Eric Chelle’s team will play their first game against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars.
