A cult-related murder in Ifite, behind Unizik, Awka, Anambra State, was suspected to have killed seven people.

The event, which happened at around 9:15 a.m. at Wintess Garden, Ifite Amansea Road, comes less than a week after a festival in Nibo, in the state’s Awka South Local Government Area, claimed the lives of roughly 16 people.

At least seven people were murdered in the melee, according to a source, and early reports indicate that armed men started shooting intermittently, killing some nearby residents.

The source went on to say, “Empty shells have been recovered from the scene,”

Gunmen shot a man in Ifite, Awka, a short while ago, according to witnesses. He is lying dead.
