Gabrielle Union, an American actress, has declared her intention to leave the social media site X.
Union said in a statement posted on Friday under her X handle that the platform had strayed from its initial objectives.
She added that the platform is no longer conducive for her because of “the return of volatile figures.”
“Authentic relationships, genuine interaction, and creative expression—all rooted in respect for user privacy and trust—were the foundation of platforms such as X. Yet, I find myself at a crossroads, confronting a future I can no longer completely support, as a result of the recent and impending modifications to the terms of service—as well as the return of destabilizing figures.
“I’m determined to participate in online communities that genuinely promote integrity, inclusivity, and respect. “There are instances when that entails identifying the final straw and knowing when to leave,” she said.
According to Union, she is still accessible on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Spill, and TikTok.
