Nigeria is influencing the economic agenda of the continent as African leaders gather in Addis Ababa for the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been joined at the summit by Mr. Wale Edun, the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. The summit’s topic is “Acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation.”

The Minister would hold talks on topics that are important to Nigeria’s economic priorities, such as health financing, economic stability, and the creation of an Africa Credit Rating Agency, according to a statement released by Mohammed Manga, Director, Information and Public Relations.

Nigeria’s strong participation in the AU Summit highlights its commitment to promoting economic growth and development throughout the continent as it lays the groundwork for a more prosperous and integrated Africa. Nigeria is in a position to take the lead in determining the economic future of Africa, especially with the AfCFTA at the top of the agenda.
