Jonathan’s former aide claimed in an interview on Monday that the former Rivers State governor has been working “magic” ever since he was appointed.
According to the Delta State lawmaker, Wike was the only one who demonstrated a dedication to carrying out the Capital city’s 40-year master plan.
“I am not here to conduct an evaluation of the ministers’ performance because it is a whole different topic. However, you would notice that there are three types of ministers if I were to evaluate their performance. Nyesom Wike is the only person in the first category.
“He is by himself. He is possibly this administration’s best minister. He has performed magic and still does. Depending on the parameters, that is what I can examine. You have a comprehensive strategy for Abuja. We are referring to that indicator. You have an Abuja master plan that has been in place for more than 40 years.
And he has stepped in, jumped right into the task, and is completing the items that were left undone.
He did not carry out the master strategy. All he is doing is carrying out the grand scheme. And he’s doing it in a lovely way. That’s what I think,” he said.
The leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denounced the federal government’s strategy of eliminating gasoline subsidies. He pointed out that Nigerians have not yet benefited from the subsidy’s economic impact since it was eliminated.
“You took away the subsidies. Why was the subsidy removed? You haven’t explained the reason to Nigerians. Oh, it’s corruption and losses, you stated. I concur. What the heck? Has the subsidy been eliminated? What plans do you have with the subsidy’s earnings?
“People are asking that question. You must inform Nigerians that the subsidy has been eliminated. Thirty trillion dollars will be raised. We’re going to use the $30 trillion in this way. And anticipate this at the conclusion of this investment. Make us answerable for these outputs. However, that isn’t done,” he said.
Remember how the National Assembly’s Joint Committee on Finance questioned Finance Minister Wale Edun on the country’s earnings from the eliminated fuel subsidy? Naija News claimed that Edun requested a private meeting.
