Tinubu’s attendance at the December 3 Presidential Meeting was verified by a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement signed by Acting Spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.

The BNC provides a forum for enhancing bilateral collaboration between the two countries in fields like manufacturing, energy, education, technology, culture, defense, and security.

Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, will also be part of the group, representing the ministry at the December 2 Ministerial Meeting.

From November 28 to 30, the schedule will include Senior Officials Meetings (SOM), which will conclude with the Presidential Meeting.

In order to place Africa in the context of global political, economic, and social trends, the BNC seeks to promote cooperation.

In order to promote peace, stability, and development throughout the continent, it also aims to increase trade, investment, technology, education, and cultural exchanges while utilizing the resources of both countries.

“The 11th Session of the BNC will, among other things, provide a framework for collaborative and cooperative efforts to bring Africa into the mainstream of global political, social, and economic developments; afford the governments and private sectors of both countries to consult each other on their respective economies and investment climates to promote trade and industry; improve bilateral relations in the field of technology, education, health, culture, youth, and sports; utilize the generous endowments of both countries to maximize socio-economic development, through economies of scale, global competitiveness, and specialization; and establish the mechanisms for putting the benefits of economic cooperation to the service of peace, stability, social integration, and economic development in other parts of the continent,” the statement added.

It is anticipated that President Tinubu, who is presently on an official visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, will return in time to spearhead Nigeria’s efforts at this crucial meeting.
