Mrs. Eno will be buried at Tkot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium local government area, according to a statement from Prince Enobong Uwah, Secretary to the State Government.

According to Uwah, the purpose of the work-free day was to allow the state’s citizens to honor the former first lady with final tributes.

Following the last home-going program of our late First Lady, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government, in consultation with the family of the deceased, announced on Wednesday that Friday, November 29, 2024, would be a work-free day in remembrance of our beloved mother.

The purpose of this is to allow Akwaibomites and other locals to honor our mother at her funeral service in Tkot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, on that day.

After suffering from an illness, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno passed away at a hospital on September 26, 2024.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, after a protracted illness. In the company of her loved ones, she died quietly at the hospital on September 26, 2024.

“During this trying time, the family prays for the prayers and support of good people and submits to the will of the Almighty.” The family will supply more information as needed. The family respectfully begs privacy in the interim.

The government of Governor Umo Eno released a statement saying, “His Excellency, the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, appreciates all who have stood by the first family in this period and assures all the citizens that his commitment to the service of the state is unwavering despite this huge personal loss.”
