On Monday, social media critic Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan, called Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), “incompetent.”
Olukoyede is incompetent, according to VeryDarkMan, because he failed to apprehend former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello after designating him sought since April. Bello was charged by the EFCC with suspected money laundering crimes totalling N80.2 billion during his tenure as Kogi State governor.
The former governor allegedly turned himself in to the anti-graft agency, despite Bello being on the Commission’s wanted list. According to reports, Bello was freed even though the EFCC had declared him wanted.
In an Instagram post on Monday, VeryDarkMan stated: “I call Ola Olukoyede a clown and he is a symbol of incompetence and mediocrity.”
Why did I call him a clown? On April 18, he posted that the EFCC was looking for Yahaya Bello. He also said that “N80.2bn money laundering, Bello’s absence stalls arraignment.” Since then, the EFCC has been able to arraign over 100 people, but the money from all of them is not up to N120 million like Bello.
“@officialefcc the clowns of all agencies tell your Chairman he is a big clown. The only grace you have is that the youths are always carried away.”
“Your office shouldn’t be existing again, arresting young boys every day and ignoring the real fraudsters.”
