“What America saw today was the Kamala Harris I know and deeply admire,” Biden wrote in a statement posted on X only hours after Donald Trump’s win.

“Under extraordinary circumstances, she stepped up and led a historic campaign that embodied what’s possible when guided by a strong moral compass and a clear vision for a nation that is more free, more just, and full of more opportunities for all Americans,” Biden wrote, describing Harris as a “tremendous partner and public servant full of integrity, courage, and character.” As previously said, when I was announced as the 2020 presidential nominee, my initial choice was to choose Kamala. It was the wisest choice I ever made. Her narrative embodies the best aspects of America’s history. I am confident that she will continue to write that story, as she stated today.

“She will fight on with pleasure, purpose, and determination. She will remain an advocate for all Americans. Above all, as she leaves her mark on America’s future, she will be a role model for our children for many decades to come.

In the meantime, Biden has referred to Donald Trump, the victor of the nation’s 2024 presidential election.

The Associated Press reports that Biden called Trump on Wednesday to invite him to the White House and congratulate him on his electoral victory.
