Simi, a well-known singer from Nigeria, has given parents training tips for their daughter.
In a video posted to her Instagram page, the singer counseled parents to train their daughter to be independent and take charge of her financial destiny.
Simi encouraged parents to raise their daughters to be independent of males, even as she scoffed at the idea of some parents hoping for their daughters to marry a wealthy man.
“Parents teach their daughters to be independent and not to assume that they will only need someone to look after them when they are adults.
Being self-sufficient offers a sense of security. Being able to support herself and boldly admit that she is a whole person are key components of a woman’s economic power. Tell them that you are not giving up,” she stated.
