The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has come under fire from the Coalition of Opposition Lawmakers in Nigeria for his recent remarks, which advised him to quit daydreaming because Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, will never defect to the PDP on his behalf.

In light of the upcoming local elections in the State, Wike reportedly made fun of his successor, Governor Fubara, and his supporters, claiming he would teach them the ropes of politics.

But the Opposition Coalition chastised Wike in a statement released on Sunday by its spokesperson, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, claiming that Fubara cannot abandon the PDP for him and that it will be firmly under its grip in the coming days.

Who informed the FCT Minister that Fubara would leave the PDP for him to hold? Ugochinyere questioned.

The FCT minister’s assertion that Fubara has joined APP was characterized by the opposition parliamentarians alliance spokesman as unfounded, a delusional daydream of a desperate and failing politician.

The People’s Democratic Party, or PDP, is still in the early stages of its internal conflict, and despite this, you are acting like a novice politician and hopping from court to court in a frenzy. I will suggest that you buckle up for the impending storm. If you believe that Fubara would defect from the PDP and join the APP, then you are a highly regarded politician. Ignore the impending struggle.

“Fubara has consistently outwitted you in this battle; why do you believe he would defect from the PDP to join the APC like you? In the struggle for PDP’s soul, see how Fubara will provide you a sharp advantage. How do you believe you can lead PDP and remain in the APC? You cannot control Rivers PDP, and for that reason we are not concerned about it. Our fight is to make sure you receive the appropriate punishment that a man who consistently betrays his political party out of fear of losing federal protection and political gain deserves.

Fubara has not joined APP since PDP Rivers is undergoing change and the majority of its members have chosen to run for office in the LGA election in a different party. Like past conflicts, Wike believed he could kill the LGA administration in Rivers, but he is deeply hurt by Fubara’s stabilization of the LGA system.

“Wike, the PDP executives, is presenting an illegal committee of friends that is not recognized by the law, as the court has already declared it void before it was ever convened. He need to hold off till the fight for the PDP’s soul, which is currently being fought by Fubara and the legitimate Rivers PDP.
