Jimoh Sulaimon, better known as Temo, is an alleged drug baron who has been charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with trafficking in 704 kilograms of cannabis sativa, popularly known as Ghana Loud, before the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Temo was docked by the NDLEA on a six-count charge of importing, processing, trafficking, and dealing in illegal drugs before Judge Deinde Dipeolu.

Additionally, the government charged him and four other people—Ojo Emmanuel, Wasiu Olayinka Saliu, Taofeek Noah, and one Kazeem—who are all allegedly at large—with money laundering, concealing illegal funds, and operating a drug trafficking organization between 2020 and 2024.

The judge was told by the prosecutor, Lambert Nor, that Temo and other individuals had been participating in purportedly unlawful activities in Nigeria and Ghana

Nor, the head of the legal department of NDLEA, further asserted that the defendant and other individuals at large had been involved in the unlawful concealment and disguising of the substances.

Nonetheless, the defendant entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.

Based on his plea, the prosecutor told the court that he had four witnesses present who were prepared to testify against the defendant; he also asked that the defendant be placed under arrest until the allegations against him were resolved.

However, Chief Benson Ndakara, the defense attorney, also told the court that the defendant’s bail application had been filed but will be contested at a later date. He accused the agency of mediating his client’s trial.

Prior to postponing the trial till October 2 for further proceedings, Justice Dipeolu issued an order placing the defendant under the guardianship of the Nigerian Correctional Services.
