According to the head of the Israeli army, the armed forces are getting ready for a potential ground invasion of Lebanon.

According to CNN, Israel’s military chief, Herzi Halevi, informed soldiers on Wednesday that the goal of this week’s bombings in Lebanon was to destroy Hezbollah’s infrastructure and clear the path for Israeli forces to enter the country.

According to the report, Halevi stated the purpose of the invasion is to let the tens of thousands of Israelis who have been displaced by cross-border violence in the north of the country to return to their homes.

The same was asserted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who declared that his nation “will not rest” until the people living in the north could go back to their homes.

Ori Gordin, the top Israeli general in the north, issued a warning, saying the armed forces “must be fully prepared for maneuvers.”

In addition, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the battle with Hezbollah was the reason for the deployment of two reserve brigades.
