Sen. John Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, has expressed his profound appreciation for the outstanding skills showcased at the present National young Games in Asaba, saying it’s remarkable to watch the extraordinary talents emerging at the young tournament.
“Observing the extraordinary skills emerging in this young competition is astounding. Senator Enoh stated, “The true highlight of this year is not just the medals won, but also the amazing discovery of raw talent across different sports.”
Isabella Inmi Ojo Ichado is a rising star in the chess community; she is the youngest female player in Nigeria.
Ichado, who started playing chess at the age of three, was a representative for Kogi State.
She has exhibited remarkable talent on the chessboard, and her father, a chess coach, has been a major influence in developing her abilities.
Senator Enoh praised Ichado’s accomplishments and emphasized the value of spotting and nurturing such talent early on.
“Young athletes like Isabella are evidence of our nation’s enormous potential. Not only is she talented, but she also inspires me with her early commitment to the game. We are proud of her and the other young talents rising through this platform,” the minister said.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to growing grassroots athletics and making sure events like the National Youth Games continue to act as ecosystems for the next wave of national champions.
Gathering thousands of young athletes from all over Nigeria, the National Youth Games has always shown itself to be an essential occasion for promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a competitive spirit.
Many up-and-coming talents who could soon represent Nigeria on the international scene have already been made visible by this year’s edition.
